In the fire academy classes, we conduct live fire drills to train students on the basics of overhauls, forced entries, ropes, knots, ladders, fire extinguishers, building construction, fire safety, and orientation. After passing the basic fire academy and finals, the student may take the state test, which will be administered at a testing center of the student’s choice. That’s right. The student can test anywhere in the state of Texas with a TCFP testing center available.
Students will become state-certified with a passing grade of 70 or above in each of the 4 sections after completing the state test, background check, and medical requirements. Meanwhile, students will also be eligible for IFSAC seals on the state exam after successfully testing and passing each section on the state test. Through the program, you will receive the following certifications: NFPA 1001 and NFPA 472, and IFSAC Seals, including HazMat Awareness, Firefighter I, HazMat Operations, and Firefighter II.
