Our Basic Fire Training Program

Our Basic Fire Training program spans 474 hours and is available in both online and on-site formats, ensuring comprehensive coverage without any prerequisites. The on-site training lasts 12 weeks with a tuition fee of $3,250.00. For our online fire academy, students can choose their start date and select skill sessions that suit their schedules.

The tuition for the online fire academy is $2,800.00 (housing included), whereas traditional academy students can opt for housing at select volunteer fire departments for a nominal monthly fee.

Lessons, Finals, and Certifications

In our fire academy classes, we conduct live drills covering essential skills such as overhauls, forced entries, ropes, knots, ladders, fire extinguishers, building construction, and fire safety. After successfully completing the basic fire academy and finals, students may take the state test at a location of their choice across Texas.

A passing grade of 70 or above in each section will yield state certification, alongside eligibility for IFSAC seals after successful testing. Throughout the program, students are awarded essential certifications, including NFPA 1001, NFPA 472, plus IFSAC seals in HazMat Awareness, Firefighter I, HazMat Operations, and Firefighter II.

About EMT Training

Becoming an EMT is a crucial prerequisite for certifying as a firefighter in the state of Texas.

The Texas Commission on Fire Protection mandates that personnel complete a commission-approved basic structure fire suppression program and a commission-recognized emergency medical course before being appointed to fire suppression duties. The individual must also successfully pass the commission examination pertaining to that curriculum as required by §423.3 of this title.

Recognized emergency medical training includes:

  1. Department of State Health Services Emergency Medical Service Personnel Certification Training
  2. An American Red Cross Emergency Response Course, including optional lessons and enrichment sections
  3. An American Safety and Health Institute First Responder Course
  4. National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Certification
  5. Medical training deemed equivalent by the commission

Our EMT Training Options

We offer comprehensive EMT training in both online and on-site formats.

  • On-Site EMT: $1,240.00
  • Online EMT: $1,100.00

Traditional classroom students will complete their training in 8 weeks, while those enrolled in online EMT classes in Texas have a 3-month period to finish the course.

Online students will attend a skill session, and the final exam will be administered on the first day. Upon meeting the required standards, students will proceed to scheduled shifts: 2 – 12-hour shifts in the ER and 2 – 24-hour shifts on the ambulance.

Note: Online students have multiple housing options available. For more detailed information, please contact us.
