Fire Inspector Training
The Fire Inspector training is very difficult to both locate and successfully complete. The TCFP recommends a curriculum of 196 hours in order to be eligible to take the state examination for certification. Upon successful completion of our Fire Inspector program and the state examination, the student will be eligible for not only the receipt of certification in the state of Texas as a Basic Fire Inspector, but also for IFSAC seals as Fire Inspector I and II. It is required to receive the state certification in Texas.
Plans Examiner I is an additional certification course that is offered.
All three courses offered are eligible for IFSAC seals.
Grant Funding
All training offered by Fire In Texas is eligible for grant funding under House Bill 2604 or TIFMAS, which is administered by the Texas Forest Service. If you are a member of a volunteer fire department or a combination department, you may be eligible for full or partial tuition reimbursement, depending on which course you are enrolled in. Paid departments are now eligible for training reimbursement under the TIFMAS grant.
Contact us or the Texas Forest Service at (979) 458-6505 to see if your department qualifies for additional information.
No Travel Expenses
Ask us about an MOU to allow a student to do their skills at their own department without traveling. TCFP and/or Fire In Texas may audit the skill session.
